According to the regulations of the new General Law of Tourism, public and private entities in Cajamarca region are launching the Tourist Protection Network, aiming to enhance the safety and security of tourists, said Julio Palacios, Regional Director of Tourism.

Among the functions of this network, a very important one is receiving complaints, taking care of the tourists' safety, and providing timely and reliable touristic information.

“The idea is that visitors can have a pleasant stay in the city, so they would definitely recommend it to others back home,” said Palacios.

Cajamarca expects to welcome more than 250,000 tourists this year, that it, 40,000 more than last year.
